Kowloon Walled City & Chungking Mansions Part 2

Después del anterior post sobre Kowloon, me encuentro éste video en Youtube.com de monkeetime el cual nos relata lo que será (si lo dejan) la nueva Kowloon Walled City pero se llama Chungking Mansions.

After previous post on Kowloon, I am this one video in Youtube.com from Monkeetime which relates to us what will be (if Honk Kong Government let it be) the new Kowloon Walled City (Chungkin Mansions).

Las Mansones de Chungking son unos edificios que están en el número 36-44 en la calle de Nathan en Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. El edificio es bien conocido como el alojamiento más barato de Hong Kong; con una sola cama por $8 USD. El edificio es supuestamente residencial, se compone de muchos hoteles independientes de bajo presupuesto (hostales, albergues y pensiones), de departamentos, y de otros servicios. La atmósfera extraña de este edificio es comparable con el antiguo Kowloon Walled City.

The Chungkin Mansions are some buildings that are in the number 36-44 in the street of Nathan in Tsim Shah Tsui, Hong Kong. The building well is known like the cheapest lodging of Hong Kong; with a single bed by $8 USD. The building is supposedly residential, is made up of many independent hotels of low budget (inns, shelters and pensions), of departments, and other services. The strange atmosphere of this building is comparable with the old Kowloon Walled City.

Las habitaciones son pequeñas (como para que viva una hormiga); puedes subir por escaleras que generalmente estan sucias o por uno de los dos ascensores que cuenta cada bloque. También se dice que la zona donde se encuentran las Chungking Mansions no parecen ser muy seguras.

The rooms are small (like the space for an ant lives); you can raise to your room by stairs that are generally dirty or one of elevators that each block have. Also some people says that the zone where they are the Chungkin Mansions does not seem to be very safe.

El conjunto de edificios tiene 5 bloques que están conectados en la planta baja. Cada edificio (A, B, C, D, y E) tiene 16 pisos. Ahí adentro existen más de 1980 cuartos de hosteles. Con tanta gente que trabaja, vive y visita las Chungking Mansions, se le conoce como el ejemplo de la "Globalización en Acción" según la revista TIME en su edición anual de "lo mejor de Ásia" en el 2006.

The group of buildings has 5 blocks that are connected in the ground floor. Each building (A, B, C, D, and E) has 16 floors. There inside exist more than 1980 quarters of hosteles. With as much people who work, live and visit the Chungkin Mansions, it is known like the example of the “Globalisation in Action” according to the TIME magazine in its annual editing “the best thing Asia” in the 2006.
